Living End Perform Secret Gig
On Tuesday night (14 June) Melbourne's legendary Duke of Windsor hotel was
packed to the brims for fast becoming local legends Airbourne, supported by a
mystery band called Don Caster and the Benny Nongs. Those punters lucky enough
to fork out their $5 were treated to a Living End set of entirely new material.
Singer Chris Cheney told Undercover after the show that they "just picked about
ten songs. We have about forty [written for their upcoming album]". The band
head into the studio over the next few weeks to begin working on their fifth
album. "We have no idea how the album is going to sound" Cheney told Undercover
News.
The tables were turned last night as headliners of the night Airbourne proudly
brought attention to the fact that The Living End were the support act. Their
theatrical performance has gathered them a small but loyal fanbase and last
night they did not disappoint.
Living End fans should keep an eye out, when asked about the next secret show,
Cheney said "It will be better than this one, some of these songs were just a
couple of weeks old. This was the first time we have ever played them live," but
gave no hints as to when you'll "accidentally" bump into them.
Rock 'n' roll fans in Melbourne should keep their eyes peeled for Airbourne. If
the plague of industry bigwigs following them around has anything to do with it,
they won't be playing the Duke of Windsor for long.
