It is a comment on the enduring appeal of The Living End, now just over 10 years old, that they can still sell out large venues. There are few Australian bands with such enduring appeal but then there are very few Australian bands who, for the past nine years, have appeared consistently in Triple J's Hottest 100.
The reason for this popularity? Good, down-the-line modern rock. In a 1990s context, this meant a healthy dose of punk/grunge. The Living End added some rockabilly to the mix. Their sense of focus has seen songs like Prisoner of Society and Second Solution become indelible mementos of the late 1990s. Their success was such that Prisoner of Society/Second Solution was the biggest selling local single of the 1990s. With that level of support you deserve to tour to wildly enthusiastic fans.
